A native of Munich, Germany,
HELGA FLOWER
has been a resident of Sault Ste. Marie, MI for 40 years.
She has been a full time artist
and
watercolor and mixed media workshop teacher for over
30 years.
After studying art at Bavaria, she pursued her studies at universities in Oregon, Wyoming and Canada, along with art studies with many of the world’s leading artists.
She now teaches her own watercolor techniques and mixed media workshops all over the United States. Her most popular annual workshop series is the “Mackinac Island Art Experience” in northern Michigan.
Helga specializes in her artistic statements-- dreamy and suggestive creations. Her main focus for her art work and teaching is “Loosen up with Confidence.” She enjoys borrowing subject matter from nature and adding her own loose and creative touch.
“I like to open people’s eyes so they can see the beauty in things they take for granted and overlook every day.”

Helga is also a sought-after judge and juror in artist competitions and art fairs. Highlights of her last couple of years included teaching workshops in Costa Rica and the Bahamas, as well as a sold-out exhibition in Germany.

She is also proud of her design of the cover of a musical CD which was created for Phonosound, Munich, Germany.
